Background

Built From the Inside Out.

My path to coaching started long before certifications, physiology textbooks, or professional racing. It started with an obsession: human performance. As a former collegiate swimmer turned professional triathlete, I spent years chasing improvement at the highest levels of endurance sport.

I experienced firsthand the gap between athletes who continually evolve and those who stay trapped in the cycle of doing more work without better results. Early on, success came from simply training harder; more volume, more intensity, more suffering. But over time, through racing, studying, coaching, and plenty of mistakes myself, I realized elite performance is far more nuanced than that. The best athletes are not always the ones working the hardest. They are the ones creating the right adaptations consistently over time.

That realization pushed me deeper into the science of endurance performance. After earning my Master's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Performance, I began formalizing what years of racing and coaching had already taught me: physiology matters, but only when it can be applied to the realities of everyday life. The perfect training plan on paper means nothing if it cannot coexist with careers, families, stress, recovery, and the unpredictability of being human.

Today, my coaching philosophy blends advanced exercise physiology with practical execution. Lactate dynamics, VO2 development, durability, biomechanics, metabolic efficiency, and race execution all matter, but so does sustainability, consistency, and building training around the athlete instead of forcing the athlete around the training.

Holding USAT, USAC, and USA Swimming certifications, I coach athletes across multiple disciplines and every level of sport, from first-time sprint triathletes to professional race victories, National Champion cyclists, and an Olympian at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. My goal is simple: help athletes train smarter, understand their physiology deeper, and perform at levels they once thought were out of reach.

Coaching Philosophy

My Coaching Philosophy.

Data Over Guesswork

Every training decision is grounded in measurable physiology: power, pace, heart rate, and recovery metrics. If we cannot measure it, we cannot improve it.

Science Meets Reality

Physiology matters, but only when it can be applied to the realities of everyday life. The perfect training plan on paper means nothing if it cannot coexist with careers, families, stress, recovery, and the unpredictability of being human.

Individual First

No two athletes are the same. I build every plan around your life, not the other way around, accounting for work, family, sleep, and stress.

Long-Term Development

Quick fixes do not build champions. The focus is always on sustainable progression, injury prevention, and building fitness that compounds year over year.

Race-Day Execution

Training is only half the equation. I prepare every athlete with detailed race-day strategy covering pacing, nutrition, transitions, and mental frameworks.
